Hey there,

It's great that you have such a loving friend who wants to help you recover from this. I'm so glad that you have someone like that in your life, and I'm glad that you were able to reach out for help here. Good job!

If you are afraid of losing your friend over this, try talking to her about it. Explain that self-harm is an addiction, and that it's not something you can just stop for her. Let her know that you will attempt to recover, but that you may have slip-ups and fall backs. Tell her what you need from her; support, advice, or just for her to be there for you. Friends don't always know what to do in these kinds of situations. It's helpful if you let her know what and what not to do.

Take care, I'm sure this will all work out for the best.

"For the first time
in a long time,
I can say that I wanna try.
I feel helpless for the most part,
but I'm learning to open my eyes.
And the sad truth of the matter is,
I'll never get over it,
but I'm gonna try
to get better and overcome each moment
in my own way"
