Don't know what to say- Triggering - February 2nd 2009, 06:08 PM

I haven't cut in about a week. I thought I was doing pretty good until tonight when I just felt like I couldn't stand it. Now my arms are filled with cuts and I feel so ashamed for doing it but it felt like such a relief. Like I couldn't breathe until now. It's so frustrating. I don't know what to do anymore. I'm talking to a counselor and that kind of helps, but any other time I'm on my own. I feel so guilty...

You're everything I know that makes me believe
I'm not alone
You're in everyone I see
So tell me
Do you see me?

try not to beat yourself up about this, everyone has slip ups and no one can just quit overnight. its definitely a positive step that you are talking to a counsellor, they can help you talk through your feelings and suggest ways to help you overcome the self harm. i know what you mean when you say its so frustrating, because it is. there is no way round that, and its normal to feel crappy when you slip up, but everyone does and the important thing is not whats happened in the past, but where you go from here. have you checked out the alternatives sticky in this forum? i think you might find that helpful. apart form your counsellor, are there any other people you can talk though your feelings with? like a parent, a friend, someone at school? because then when you can't talk to your counsellor you will have someone else to turn to.

..and our dreams will break the boundaries of our fears..

Try not to beat yourself up. Everyone has setbacks and that's okay. Just learn from them and continue being strong. If you ever need to talk, feel free to PM me. :]
