safe self harm??????

so something i have noticed about me is that when i get depressed or something happens i crave "change" major change...... i love body mods they are my favorite thing to do and if i could make a living off of getting them i would...... and when i get depressed the desire to get them is almost unbearrable...... the ones i want the most are the big tattoos.... could it be my minds way of trying to self harm without self harming????? or is it just the wanting to change the situation.... to take control over something in my life????

Could be any of the above, could even be a desired aesthetic change. You're the only one who really knows, to be honest. I mean, next time the urge comes on, maybe think "Am I doing this to hurt myself? Am I doing this to change my look? Am I doing this to become someone else?", if you can that is.

i think it could be all of them... but i dont want to stop the body mods..... i love it i always have.... its a great way to express yourself... but i dont know what to do if it is partically to hurt myself...
