Unhappy cuts/scars- an ugly beautiful reminder - August 9th 2010, 09:29 AM

my scars and fresh cuts and a constent reminder of what happend but also what i have gotten through so far. im a long way off being healed, i still cut, things are still fucking hard, i cry nearly every day, but its easier slithly then what it was. just something i wanna ask, if u cut urself with a rusty knife with it be bad for you?

Hi Beka,

Cutting is dangerous in general. It becomes even more dangerous when you cut with a rusty knife because you might get an infection.
As for seeing cuts as reminder of everything you've been through, I get that. But there are much healthier ways then cutting and scars to remember your past. You can write everything in a journal. This way when you look back and read it, you will be able to not only see the bad, you can see the good too, which is something you can't see in a self injury scar.
PM me anytime =)

Cutting with a rusty knife can be more dangerous because the risk of getting infection is higher.

PM me if you need anything Beka.

You might consider an online journal. Or keep a journal on the computer but keep it on a locked user on the computer. Name is something like English Paper Rough Draft 2.
Don't worry about others right now. Focus on yourself. You can pull through this.
