Hair Ties -
November 16th 2010, 04:44 AM
This might seem like a strange title so I'm going to explain a lot further.
So I am wonder if what I am doing at this moment and have been since last thursday is considered self-harm. I have three hair ties on my right wrist and they dig into the skin so when you take them off there is indents were they were. I've done this before and they have actually caused cuts and swelling but I don't know why I'm doing it... I have been cut free for 3+ years but not self-harm free. So I just want to know if you would consider this self harm or not. As the smoke clears
I awaken, and untangle you from me Would it make you, feel better to watch me while I bleed? All my windows, still are broken But I'm standing on my feet LOVE=LOVE NO MATTER WHAT |

If you are doing it to the point where it's cutting your wrist and making your wrist swell then yes that would be considered self-harm. There is also a thread that discusses what is and isn't considered self-harm. I hope this helped a little. If you ever need to talk feel free to PM me, I deal with self-harm on a daily basis also.

Hey Frankie.
Whether or not something counts as self harm is a very personal thing; it comes down to whether you think it is. This thread may help you answer the question. What's the intent behind it? Are you aiming to hurt yourself, or does that just happen accidentally? Also, well done on being free from cutting for so long! That's great. Good luck. Nothing in the world is the way it ought to be. It's harsh, and cruel. But that's why there's us - champions. Doesn't matter where we come from, what we've done or suffered, or even if we make a difference. We live as though the world is as it should be, to show it what it can be. |

Well have you been cutting yourself before this? If so I think so but If you have not I wouldn't call it self harm (only if this was ur 1st time doing it)
if u did it b4 and u know wat is gonna happen and do it again I would call it self harm hope this helped! If you're feeling suicidal please call 1800-SUICIDE,you'll save your life. :]
