Angry hellpp - February 22nd 2009, 10:49 PM

So I'm pretty much screwed. I signed up to go on a trip to florida for spring break to do some environmental volunteering. However, I totally spaced on the fact that we will be taking some trips to the beach. =/ I have scars on the top of my legs that a swimsuit will NOT cover clearly. Do you guys have any suggestions for medications or anything that can get rid of my scars soon? I'm so mad at myself for this.

First of all, I don't think you should be mad at yourself about this. Taking trips to the beach is something that most people do. These trips are a big deal to people who self harm and it could be a great way to show off your progress, as well as a great incentive to stay cut free until the trip. This thread is full of cover up tips. If you are worried about your swimsuit, try looking for a suit with boy shorts or look for board shorts. Those are very stylish now and you would also be concealed.

Yeah, I'd wear swimming shorts. Probably the best thing unless you can find some fast working medication, which I have yet to find myself. Good luck and have fun on your trip.

Getting some cream that helps hide scars would help. I think there's some types of cream you can get in that link that Amanda Kate gave you. Also, I agree with wearing swimming shorts, that could help out a lot. Check out that link, it's really helpful. Hopefully you can find something that will get your mind off of simply your cuts, and you can have a good time at the beach Good luck. xx
