I Told My Brother - November 21st 2010, 04:56 PM

Well, my brother and I are really close and I've been meaning to tell him about my cutting problems for a while now. I added him on Facebook a few days ago and I decided yesterday that I would tell him about it on FB since I can't seem to make myself tell him in person. I sent him the FB message and he replied saying that it's okay. I actually thought he would get mad or judge me or stop talking to me, but he didn't do any of that. He made sure to tell me that I can talk to him about anything and he will listen, which makes me feel alot better about everything. I sent him a reply a few hours ago explaining some things. I'm looking forward to when he replies back. It just feels so much better to finally have someone that you can talk to about these kind of things!

Congratulations on telling your brother. For me I could never tell my mom or siblings what I've done to myself, but the good thing is I've stopped harming myself in the long run. I hope you get much better and you can feel more relieved. <3

Telling your brother was the best thing you could have done, and I'm sure he can help you cope with things now.

I think you are ever so brave to have told your brother about your self harm. That must have taken so much courage! Hopefully it feels like a bit of a weight off you now you have managed to share it with someone. Stay strong!
