Thats really great, well done for finally telling someone! That must have been so hard for you to do, and you did it!

There's no need to be scared, there will be people to help you and talk to you about why you feel the need to hurt yourself, and to make sure that you're safe.

Thats great news. You should be proud of finally telling someone. Dont worry about it, nothing bad will come of it & no-one will judge you, as hannah said, you need to talk & be honest, so people can help you.

Hey Amelia!

It's absolutely great that you told your teacher about your self harm. Telling someone is a really hard step but the most worthwhile. It takes a lot of courage, so you've been really brave and that's great! You should be really proud of yourself.
There is nothing to be scared of, you've done the best thing that you could've done, you've got added help and support now.
Well done!

Well done. The first step is the hardest one. This is finally the beginning of recovery x

I do not even know you but I glad to say. I am in fact proud of you. Often the first step is the most difficult. But saying that recovery won't be easy but it will get better over time. And the before you know it you'll have recovered.

The school nurse, in your first session is likely to just want to know a bit about you and what you do to yourself etc.

PM me if you ever want to talk.

Re: finally told someone.. - February 23rd 2009, 06:17 PM

As it's been said, you should be VERY proud of yourself for doing this. It takes so much strength to tell someone. That being said, your situation will only get better from here now that you're finally going to get help: the main thing to remember is:

be honest (you have nothing to be ashamed of, you're trying to help yourself)

If it makes it easier, make a list of things to tell the nurse/whoever she recommends you to. If you're the type to freeze up in front of strangers when talking about SH (I am, haha) writing stuff down helps alot.

Above all congratulations! <3 you're such a strong person for doing this

When you say "never", I'll say "lie"
When you say "always", I'll say "true"
When you say "love", I'll say "you"
I'll say "you"

It gets better.

Amelia,
I'm proud of you for telling someone. As many people have said, that's the most difficult thing to do, but you feel so much better once you have.
When your teacher takes you to the school nurse, if it makes you feel more comfortable, you could probably ask her if she will tell anyone. If you ask her not to, she won't unless she is afraid your life is in major danger.
I'm sure that once you start to talk to the nurse you will begin feeling more comfortable.
Good luck dear.
