Sexual Orientation self harm - February 24th 2009, 11:24 PM

My guilt over my sexual orientation has really burned me out. I feel so guilty and ashamed about being a lesbian. I hate myself. I feel like I'm dirty and that I should be with men. I feel so bad that I can't develop feelings for men. I ask myself all the time "Why did this happen.", "Why do I imagine getting married to a women and having kids", "Why do I only want lesbian sex" I just feel so hopeless. Last night I cut myself and it just the pressure just really broke me down. I just cry and cry and sometimes I feel that living isn't worth it.

Hey, Lauren. There's absolutely nothing wrong with being lesbian, you should never feel so ashamed that you harm yourself. Your not dirty and you can be with whoever you want. Nobody is giving you problems about it, are they?

Yesterday I saw you kissing tiny flowers
But everything that lives is born to die
And so I say to you that nothing really matters
And all you do is stand and cry.

They have said stuff like "sex is better with a man". Especially when people automatically assume your straight and you have to correct them. That is something that hurts the most. It makes me feel that I'm not right and just an outcast.

Lauren,
Nobody should ever make you feel like you aren't good enough or like you're an outcast for being a lesbian. There is totally nothing wrong with it. I'm a lesbian too and I refuse to let anyone make me feel bad. Being a lesbian is definitely not gross and I wish I could help you see that. I think.. that you just have to come to terms with it because it probably won't change.
If you ever need someone to talk to, feel free to PM me anytime.

hey hunni. I know it must be really scary to discover your a lesbian, but there are a few things you need to remember. 1] Its no dirty at all...its no more dirty than a man and a woman together. 2] your not a freak there are so many people out there who are gay/lesbian/bi/trans, people come in different shape and sizes and they also come with different likes and dislikes 3] There is absolutly nothing wrong with being a lesbain, nothing!! Its you, its the way you are. It doesnt change what kind of person you are and it cetianly doesnt make you a bad person. 4] be yourself.
PM me anytime.. im here to listen!!!
