Feeling alone and scared... - January 5th 2011, 12:21 AM

Hey.. Im new to this but I needed people to talk to, I'm tried of feeling alone. I used to cut a lot and now I have scars that remind me of the feelings I have that keep reappearing in my head and making me want to cut. I stopped cutting I think about two months ago and worst since then is digging my nails In to my skin. But two days ago I started hitting myself and cause bruising on my ribs and arms. I bottled everything up until I couldnt stand it anymore. It's stupid really and I know I shouldn't of done it, just I needed the feeling of pain again. It's like an addiction just I thought I'd beaten it, only now I want pain twice as much it's all I think about. I don't know what to do anymore...

Well , why dont you start by talking to me i can relate to you in a lot of ways. I must ask why you're doing this?? Like whats the reason that causes you to hurt so much on the inside that you feel to hurt on the outside too .

I got hurt by an old boyfriend. That was three years ago when I was only thirteen. Now 16 and still suffering. Thanks for talking to me

you can talk to me i just recently started making bruises on myself cuz i love the pain
dont ever feel alone cuz youre not.

Ohhh yeaa Getting over boyfriends is hard but its been three years , whats holding you back? Like why do you think you can't get over him???

You need to find alternavties to hurting yourself, try drawing on yourself with red pen or crushing ice in your hand. Please don't start again it will just get out of hand. You need to find out what is stopping you getting over this lad, it obviously isn't doin you any good, and it won't help you when your trying to stop self harming.

Hey Nicole,

First of all welcome to the site. (:

Iím sorry to hear how youíre feeling at the moment, it must be awful to feel so alone. From what youíve said it seems like you want to beat self harm and move on from it, and I think thatís really great. You say that you stopped cutting about two months ago, can you think back and try to remember if there was a reason you wanted to stop, or was it something you didnít feel like you needed to do anymore?
I know that at times opening up to people and talking to people about how you feel can be hard, but you donít have to struggle with your feelings on your own, there are always people out there who are willing to help you. Do you think you would be able to tell someone how youíre feeling at the moment? Maybe a parent or teacher? Also, it seems like youíve been feeling like this for a while so talking to a professional like a doctor or counsellor might help you. Iíll also add in TeenHelps list of helplines (http://www.teenhelp.org/forums/f3-general/t22-hotlines/) maybe talking to someone over the phone could help, especially as you say you feel alone.

Back to the self harming... It seems like over the past few days things have been harder and youíve been thinking about it a lot. Sometimes it can help to distract yourself and try to take your mind off things. Is that something youíve tried? I hope some of the things Iíve said have helped.
