My parents. - January 5th 2011, 02:35 AM

So today I saw the school counselor and told her that I SH. She listened closely to everything I said. She said that she was going to talk to someone who can give me "options" on getting help. She's suppose to stop by my school tomorrow and talk to me.

I've told the counselor, and now I want to tell my parents (my mom first). But I don't know how to say it to her.

What if she thinks I'm crazy? What if she gets mad at me for SH?

How should I tell her?

Thanks!

It is SO good that you have told a counceler and it is even better that you want to tell your parents. Thats a very big step and a lot of people can't do that for a very long time. Anyhow, just tell her exactly whats been going on. Go in and say "mom, can I talk to you for a minute?" and just tell her. Tell her when it started, tell her why it happened. She may be mad or scared at first but she won't stay like that. If anything, she should be happy you are telling her. I don't think she will think you are crazy at all. SH is pretty common with teens.

Well Done
I really admire the way you've admitted things to your counsellor. And on top of that your going even further.. You truely are amazing!

Just like that-Thats how I told my mum..Although my mum did get mad and do the 'your crazy' bit at first once she'd calmed down she was just glad I'd told her and in a lot of ways it opened up our relationship.
Good Luck sweetpea.
