I don't know if this is triggering not so just to be on the safe side...

anyways, am I the only one who gets urges to punch a wall and actually want their hand to break?

I just have this thing with it I guess, almost did it today cause I was pissed

no, you're not the only one. i'm like that too. where you want to "accidentally" do something and get hurt really badly... and have a great excuse for why you're hurt. yeah... i'm definitely like that.

i've never had that problem but it's not abnormal i know of people that wanted to do something like that

Hey Kitty,
Your not the only that gets urges to punch walls because there will be many other people who do this too. Do you know what makes you want to do that? It can be helpful to look at why you get urges to do it. I am here if you ever want to talk :-)

Hey Kitty.

Your definitely not the only one that gets urges to punch a wall, because I know other people who have the same problem. However, it's something that I would advise you to try to avoid because punching walls could really hurt and cause serious damage to your hand.

I know that you said that you were angry and that you got the urge today to punch the wall, but what made you angry? Did something trigger you? It can be helpful to look at the reasons behind the urge.

We all get angry from time to time, we're only human. If you do get the urge to punch a wall again, please try to resist it and look at our Alternatives thread. You might find that some of them might help.

your not the only one.
I often have urges to punch of kick a wall, perhaps not to do damage to it but to myself. Its often made worse when people annoy me or make me really angry so i try and distract myself, take a walk in the fresh air, make someone talk to you and try to get involved in a good conversation that seems to help stop me.

You're definitely not the only one who's felt like that...I've wanted to break something/myself when I can't contain how mad I am. If any of the alternatives in the aforementioned sticky don't work for you, try experimenting with strenuous exercise (which can still tax your body, but in a good way) or artistic expression. It sounds like getting active may help you more though.

As for the reason, do you often get triggered to do this? Do you know what situations you're usually in? Finding this out can help you avoid it in the future, or at least learn what you're dealing with. PM me if you ever want to talk
