Have you ever tried any other types of coping?
Relaxation? Creativity type things? Physical activity?
Emotions can sometimes be incredibly hard to deal with but what part of it is it that you can't cope with? Feeling it? Admitting to feeling it? Fear of losing control of it?

Sometimes it's not just one thing that works, sometimes its a combination of different things, I for example, exercise, write poetry and draw, use relaxation and grounding techniques and use music and talking as a distraction. What I use depends on how I feel and how difficult I'm finding things at that time.. There will never be just ONE thing that works and that helps for each and every situation. If I'm having flashbacks I will use grounding techniques and music, but if it happened again, I may end up using exercise and writing.. Just because it's worked doesn't mean it's fool-proof, yeah?

I used to be the same. I'd either sh, or use other unhealthy ways of coping. I will not mention them as I do not wish to trigger anyone who was not expecting it. Now you are aware of why then you can start working on fixing it. Sometimes crying is the best way, or punching a pillow or just screaming. It'll slowly become easier to deal with without going back to your old ways. Good luck.
