Unhappy No, no, o, no NO. This can't be happening. - January 28th 2011, 01:41 AM

We we're having a great conversation. We were getting along so great, I really thought I would be proved wrong. I thought I may actually be lovable [likable.. whatever]. Out of no where you said, "I know this is random. But I don't care how bossy Victoria is. I love her more then anything in the world (: " I just blew it off, trying to say something that hinted my depression but with no real signs of it. Now, we're having a conversation about wether or not love exists. My side is that it doesn't. It's been forever since I've been so motivated to self injure. And No, I'm not saying it's your fault. It's just... How could you be so obvious? I do nothing but show signs of interest in you, playfully flirt with you, and even earlier today when you asked if I liked you I said "Maybe.. ;D ". Couldn't you please show me some respect and not crush every dream I have.

Gah. Can someone please say something that will make me not want to self harm. I'd really need the motivation.

This guy is not worth hurting yourself over hon and as much as I run for the quick fix too...it doesn't really fix anything. It distracts you for a little bit and then leaves you with all your old problems plus a pretty gorry secret and an addiction...

Obviously this person likes you as a friend. I know this is hard- I've lived with it for four years! But if you care about this person beyond a crush, if you like them as a person, you'll learn to accept that. Be their friend. Be the best friend you can be!

If it's too painful for you to be just a friend, then walk away. Don't hurt yourself. You are a special, unique person who is and will be loved. Unfortunately, we cannot dictate who we love or who loves us, so things often get complicated and painful. Just keep your head up and your hope strong!

Yeah, obviously this person seems absurdly oblivious. But a lot of people are. It's frustrating and painful, I know. Yet I say again, don't let their social ineptitude hurt you. If you really want, say to the person "You know, I really don't want to hear about how you feel about Victoria. It sort of upsets me". Or just let it go, remain their friend (or not) and go on.

Here's the crazy thing- I can almost promise you that someone has a secret crush on you. Someone would be devastated if you hurt yourself. Keep looking for them. And know that a bunch of people right on this site want you to be safe and happy.

And even more importantly, love yourself. You are your own whole self and you do not need another person to make you feel worthy and happy.
