My biggest trigger - January 30th 2011, 11:56 PM

My most constant and hardest to handle trigger is looking in the mirror

I can REALLY relate to this :/

Religion has NOTHING to do with who my God IS.

You are more than the choices that you've made
You are more than the sum of your past mistakes
You are more than the problems you create
You've been remade

Are you seeing a therapist for this?

The fact that you seem to have so much self hatred for yourself is something that needs to be worked on and a lot of people have therapy to get over this.

If you aren't seeing a therapist then I definitely recommend that you try to get one, you don't deserve to feel like this. Take care and stay strong <3

I think it'd be a good idea to mention this to them. I've seen on TV documentaries where people get help for things like this so it's possible they could help you.

Do you know when you'll be able to get to see the therapist?

Seeing a therapist/psychiatrist helped me immensely with my self-image issues. If it's getting to the point where you feel you need to hurt yourself every time you look in the mirror, you need some help. It's like that song by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Snow--'But I need more than myself this time.' Keep your head up and you can PM me anytime.

Re: My biggest trigger - February 1st 2011, 12:57 AM

Looking in the mirror every morning is one of the hardest things for me. But looking in the mirror at night and realizing that I have survived one more day pushes me to get past the reflection every morning.

"Although only breath, words which I command are immortal." Sappho

"Sometimes I feel nothing at all. Sometimes I feel everything is my fault.
Sometimes I feel the hate break my mind. Sometimes I feel they deserve it this time.
May the bridges I burn light my way." - I, Alone - Otep
