Stressed! - February 3rd 2011, 08:22 PM

My guidance counsellor told me not to worry abot these prelims/exams starting tomorrow. Even though I told her I havent studied much cause I've been so low lately, she told me to not revise tonight and to not get worked up. So do I risk failing these and not study more and stay reasonably ok, or do I risk studying and staying up later to fit everything in and being really low tomo??

Please help. I'm so worried about tests I get all worked up and panic sometimes have panic attacks and I don't want to make myself low for tomorrow as I know for sure I will wreck my exam up.

Suggestions would be great ...

In my opinion, since the test is tomorrow studying like crazy at this point isn't going to teach you anything new or that you don't already know. Chances are you already know what you are going to know. So my advice would be not to crazy study at this point, maybe a little if you want. But just try to relax and not freak out about the tests. You don't want to make yourself stressed and panicked and end up self harming, that will just make things worse later. Good luck. I hope this helped a little.

Best thing is to just glance over everything. Stressing out makes testing so much worse.

Greatest example ever: I got stressed out and preoccupied with stressful urges, stayed up all night, got two hours of sleep, and only got 46% of the AP Calculus test correct.

Haha. Just stay calm, get rest, and do the best you can.

Just try and take some deep breaths, rationalize things in a practical but optimistic way for yourself, and don't cut yourself over being stressed or over anything. It never makes anything any better.
Maybe take up exersizing or doing yoga, or punch a punching bag when you're angry. That's how I take out my stress and frustration of the day.

Hey,

Try and take breaks when studying to relieve yourself of stress and pressure. Don't stay up too late because you want your mind to be alert when you take a test. If you find yourself getting too worked up to sleep, tire yourself out before you go to bed by doing something like running or punching a punching bag.
