I stopped but started again - February 23rd 2011, 09:43 PM

I stopped cutting for a few weeks but had one horrible day and not really a good week. I have to keep it a secret since my parents found out. Its has gotten to the point where it doesn't hurt as bad as it used to. I have actually thought about burning, but they say the scars from that are worse. But I just cant help but think about it. I really do want to stop but since I have started again it feels like I don't want to try and quit again. The thing is its also starting to get hot again and the scars will show, and I am afraid what my other family will say if/when they see them. I am so confused right now....

I know how you feel, i have been going through this too. Its like one second you think that you want to quit and then the next you dont see the point in stopping and you just dont want to. But stopping is worth it. It will feel great when you are self injury free. Dont start burning, going from one form of self injury to another is not a good idea, it will only make things worse. Just keep trying to stop, good luck

i know exactly what you mean. i'm 15 now, and i'd been cutting off and on since i was 11 or 12. currently, i haven't cut for a little over 2 months when i feel like cutting, i just stomp and cry and if its REALLY bad, i lightly scratch my skin, but not hard enough to leave marks longer than a day or so. and i think of how dissapointed the person who cares about me would be. good luck, and hope this helps! <3
