Is this considered self harm?
My friends all tell me that this is self harm...
I get nervous and start running my fingers through my hair and it eventually starts falling out. I dont even realize that I'm doing this untill someone tells me or untill I notice my hair breaking off.
is this really self harm?

Re: Is this considered self harm?
I would say not because you're not intending to pull out your hair but it is still not good nonetheless

Re: Is this considered self harm?
Pulling your hair is a form of SH, but to me all it seems like your doing is breakng off bits of dead hair, parts that would fall out on their own.

Re: Is this considered self harm?
I would say no, it's not. You're not purposefully pulling it out and just running your fingers through it isn't going to cause you an damage.

Hey Skye. No I dont think its self harm, self harm is when you Intentionally hurt your self, you seem be doing this without thinking. But I dont think its good either, Maybe speak to someone about it, like a parent, or a teacher you trust.

Take care hun

Re: Is this considered self harm?
Sh is something you do uncontrolably or very planned to cause harm to yourself, being nervous and this happening is just your bodys reaction to how you are feeling,if you are not openly trying to pull it out it is just a reaction to your hair being played with and hair falls out all the time, your friends are mistaken
you have nothing to worry about but if you are nervious try talking to someone about how to solve those issues
