Healing cut - March 11th 2011, 05:19 AM

This is the second time this has happened, and it's in the same place on different legs. It feels healed, but it's still just as red as the night I did it. It's like, the top healed but underneath hasn't. I think it has to do with the waterproof bandaids I used...it makes it heal faster (like, days/weeks faster) so could that be the reason underneath is still bright red?

The first time it happened it took forever for it to be normal colored again. And it wasn't gradual. It went from very noticeable to just...almost gone. Normal scar.

Has it happened to anyone else?

Most of my scars have been like that, did you do anything different this time other than the waterproof bandaids? like was it deeper than usual or did you use a different blade to do it? It's how our body heals itself - seals off the top layer of skin to prevent infection and then takes its time healing the deeper stuff.

Mine go purple and don't fade for ages! It makes it really hard to cover but I find its better if I wash it twice a day with body wash and put which doctor on it. I hide the smell because its the same stuff I put on my spots and I've always been a clean freak...

Mine are always bright and obvious for ages and then suddenly pale and hardly there, or else they're already pale when the scab comes off. There's absolutely no middle ground. I've always found that so weird. I've used different bandaides, different ways of cleaning the cuts, or even just leaving them alone altogether. They're always either bright for ages and then suddenly gone, or they're instant scars, and there's no rhyme or reason.
