could someone help me figure this out :/? - March 25th 2011, 06:43 PM

i'm not really sure where to put this but i think it might have something to do with my cutting so i decided to put it here.

lately i've been getting really weird mood swings. i'd be really happy one minute then i'd be really depressed the next minute. i haven't cut in nearly a month so could it have something to do with that?

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
thank you

and in that moment, I swear we were infinite

It could be the fact that you haven't cut and your body needs it... kind of like withdrawl symptons. It could also just be mood swings to do with hormones or something... PM me if you want to talk... go in peace! <3

Hey there,

I'm really glad you came to us for some advice, thats great. I really want to start by telling you how amazing it is that you're a month self harm free. That really is amazing and it proves you have the strength inside you.

Mood swings can be caused my many different things. This includes, depression, anxiety, pregnancy, stress, puberty, Lack of sleep.

If you had depression before, or if you were stressed before when you self harmed, i really want to encourage you to figure out whether this could be the problem now. This way you can try and discover what is is making you feel depressed/stress and hopefully try and work on the issues which is causing it to prevent you from wanting to self harm again.

Either way you could always go and see your doctor and talk to them about the situation. It might be useful.

If theres anything you want to talk about we're always here for you

First of all a month is brilliant, well done!
As Jessie said, mood swings can be caused by a lot of things, such as; depression, stress and hormone changes/puberty. In teenage years mood swings are common but if it is worrying you then i would suggest talking to your doctor about this.

Feel free to PM me if you ever want to talk,
Take care and stay strong
