Hey there Ida :]
Welcome to TH! The only thing that I could think is maybe you could just take a cloth or toilet paper or something and tape it to your arm. This sounds weird, but it may keep the blood off your clothes. Best of Luck Trish |

Hey Ida,
I would not use toilet paper because if the cuts are still bleeding the toilet paper will stick to them. I don't know whether you have ever heard of it but the best thing to use would be melolin... It is like cotton on one side and the other is like a shiny dressing. You stick them on with dressing tape. I find they help and they are not painful when you take them off. I hope this helps. |

Toliet paper or any paper towel will help to prevent the blood from getting on your clothes, but Jen is right, since they are still bleeding when they dry, they will stick to the paper and when you take it off it will just open the scab. What I used to do was wait until it was pretty much scabbed over, but if it was something that wouldn't scab over quickly I would get some type of antibacterial and put it on the tolietpaper and put it on like that. It was kind of a two in one thing. Best thing though is to invest in some non-stick gauze and waterproof tape.

I think if you run them under cold water, it apparently stops the bleeding. So, you could try that before you sleep and hope that it doesn't bleed through the night? Or, try the tissue paper idea but instead of taking it off, wash it off. The water will practically destroy the tissue paper so you won't have to take it off and risk making it bleed again.

Although it did make them bleed when I took it off I did use toilet paper... and then I would take it off before I got in the shower in the morning and then the water would help. If it bled after the shower I would get a tissue and dab and the cut and press, releasing reguarly. sometimes I would be doing it 4 a couple of days but it worked and prevented suspision...

Take a clean peice of material and tie it around whereever you cut, but not too tightly. Make sure its sterile, and doesnt have ANY kind of fuzzies or anything sticking out of it. You have to ake sure its like completely flat, or parts of it will get stuck in the cut.

Another recommendation would be do you happen to have looser fitting clothes? I [used to] wear sweatpants. Not only are they a lot darker than my jeans, so it's less visible if I bleed, but they're looser and therefore less likely to be rubbing so much against my cuts that they're constantly re-opened.
