ERGHHHHHHHH - April 10th 2011, 08:18 PM

My mom has took mt blades of me. i am so annoyed i need them bad i really have to cut. i hate this. I wish i had never told my friend now. I dont think i can cope without cutting. What am i supposed to do. I cant get anymore blades until tomorrow :/
I am scared i will do something stupid in the mean time :/

Emma,

Start with Take a DEEP breathe, in an out. Count to ten as you do this. It will help you calm down. I know that when someone takes our knives, it is doing the opposite of helping in our eyes. Step back and pretend to be your mom for a second. She loves you and does not want to see you hurting yourself like this. So to here she is helping. As a semi-former self harmer, I know that is not the case. You need to quit because you want to not because you are being forced to. I know you say that you wish you never told your friend, but this may turn out to be a good thing in the end. Do yourself a favor and do not allow your self to be alone tonight, if you are with people you are less likely to do something that you may regret in the end. I love you, and you are a strong beautiful girl. You can beat this I know you can. Chin up and if you need anything my dear let me know <3

Hey Emma.

I know things are really hard for you right now but truth is you don't need the blades. You're worth so much more than the harm you could possibly do to yourself. Perhaps use your mum taking your blades away from you as away to move forwards. Look at it in a way that actually this could be where you turn around everything and start moving on from self harm. I'm not saying you won't ever have urges because you will be the only way to overcome self harm is to have those urges and fight them no matter how hard they get. Whether it means you crying until they've gone, hitting a pillow and even screaming at the top of your voice. Do what ever it takes because you can beat them and thats the only way you're going to start moving on.

You know where the list of alternatives is so go and take a look and do some of them when you feel like you need to cut yourself because they do help. You just have to find the ones which work for you. Don't let the ones which don't work set you back. Keep on trying new different things.

You and I both know that cutting yourself doesn't truly solve anything. It's only going to take away everything else for a little while but its all going to come back and you're going to be back in this situation. You have to keep fighting the urges and find healthy ways to deal with your emotions and thoughts.

I know things are hard for you right now but you can do this, you really can. Stay strong and don't stop fighting.
