Question getting off...? - April 14th 2011, 09:04 PM

This thread has been labeled as non-PG13 by the original poster or by a Moderator. The contents of this thread might therefore not be suitable for younger users. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.

So a while back my boyfriend found some of my cuts. Long story short, he said something like "I don't see you getting off to pain, so there not pleasure cuts..." Can people getting off by cutting or something similar?

I'm not sure what the extent is to getting off by cutting or self harming yourself, but men and women both find cutting as some sort of stress relief, much like a normal orgasm. I, myself, have no tried self harm, but I do find pleasure in pain. Tattoo's is a huge way I get stress out (although, haven't gotten anything new in about two years now) because of the pain it inflicts on me. I also enjoy different types of pain inflicted sexual pleasure, such as choking. It all depends on what your into.

Hi crystaltears,

I’ve moved your thread to the selfharm forum because you’re more likely to get quality responses here vs. sex & puberty.

Take care.

My ex and all of her friends used to cut themselves or each other during sex and they always claimed how it made everything much more intense.

Drugs + Sex + SH = ***me confused***

I, personally, never understood the getting off part, but I can understand how it could make someone feel "good". SH related pain and like above post said, tattoo's and piercings do release a lot of tension and stress for a lot of people.

Sometimes cutting felt very very good, almost like a drug. I suppose you can compare that to a sexual pleasure, but for me it was never a sexual thing at all. There's self-harm and then there's masochism.

That's called "masochism." It is a sexual gratification/release from pain. I do not think it is the same as self-harm, because you experience emotional (non-sexual, usually) release from self-harm so I don't think it's the same, because if someone else were to intentionally hurt me I would knock their lights out. =)
