Is it normal to not feel pain when cutting? I have been cutting myself for about a year now, and it just doesn't hurt. It's more like that feeling you get when someone runs their fingers behind your ear and down your neck. A good feeling. I can't help but laugh like a maniac when I cut... is anyone else like this???
"Somewhere, there was a tiny dream. Such a tiny dream it was,No one knew who had dreamt it. The tiny dream began to think.'I don't want to disappear this way.How can I make people dream of me?'The tiny dream thought and thought, and then came up with an idea.'I'll make humans get lost in me, and let them create the world.'"-Hitobashira Arisu (Alice Human Sacrifice)

I think that it's relatively normal. I mean, initially when I cut, it hurts. But if I cut more than once in a sitting it won't hurt at all because of all the endorphins. I think maybe with you, you are already anticipating the cut (which is a psychological thing. It deals with conditioning) and so the endorphins are released before you even put the blade to your skin.

Hey,
That is quite normal, due to the build up in endorphines and adrenaline it can sometimes not hurt while Self Harming; although afterwards it will start hurting. Also if you are a frequent selfharmer, it becomes addiction and like any addiction the effects start to wear off and to get the same initial effect you need to do it more. I would strongly encourage you to look at the list of alternatives http://www.teenhelp.org/alternatives. They help the urges to fade or distract you until the urges fade. SH is not good for you and is very addictive, i suggest you should talk to an adult you trust - someone who could help and support you through this. Feel free to PM me if you ever want/need to talk, Take care, Charli
