Unhappy please help me. - April 17th 2011, 02:10 AM

Um ok im not sure how this works.. i cut and i want to stop i really want help my parents dont know. no one really knowsss. i just want so help and i just feel all alone, like no one can ever do anything to help and i just need to stop but i cant.

Hey sweetie, I'm really sorry you're having to deal with this <\3 Getting help is scarry and difficult and all but I hope you know that just the fact that you want help is a big step to getting control over this whole situation. Telling someone you trust (anyone: bestfriend, closest family member, guidance counselor...) is important because they can help you deal not just with the cutting but with the things that make you want to cut. Also, if you don't already know, figure out what's causing it. And just know that you do deserve better. You deserve to be treated with gentleness and respect. I doubt you'd do to anyone else what you do to yourself...just something to think about. Anyways, if you ever wanna talk, you can always PM me. Goodluck honey, take care of yourself

Hey there,

First of all it is great that you are reaching out to us for help, i know that it takes a lot of courage to talk about it.

Talking to people about your self harm can be really difficult and scary, but it is the first steps towards recovery. Perhaps you could talk to your parents or an adult you trust and explain to them what is going on and how you are feeling; people react in different ways and there will probably be a lot of questions, but it will help having the support that you need. If you feel that telling people is too hard at the moment, perhaps you could write them a letter, that may be an easier way to express your feelings.

As for the Self Harm itself, have you tried any alternatives? Here is the list of alternatives that you may want to try http://www.teenhelp.org/alternatives. They will either help the urges to fade or will help distract you until the urges fade.

You can do this, i know you can. You have to believe in yourself.
