burning? - May 28th 2011, 02:34 AM

so ive been cutting alot every day the past week. i havent done it in a yr so i guess im makin up for lost time. anyhow... im really tempted to start burning also. i have never done that before... id say 55% of why i cut is to see blood, so im not sure burning would help much. Anyways, my point here is to ask between burning and cutting, which would u say is safest? im very careful when i cut. i make sure everything is very sanitary and such.. I also know hurting urself isnt good, but im gonna do it either way, so which is less horrible?

I am not going to help you harm yourself and tell you which is safer. I have done both. There are many ways to burn yourself, any way of burning yourself is not safe whatsoever. Cutting yourself and burning yourself is not say. Neither is safer.

You say either way you will do it, but I will not help you in the choice you make. Cutting makes you bleed and leaves scars. Burning can do the same in the sense of leaving scars. It can also severely screw up your nerves if you do a big enough spot and do it long enough. They are both equally horrible my dear. I was a self harmer for six years roughly and I am still in recovery.

Like Ashley said, neither is safe and I'm sure you know that. Speak to someone and get help rather than start up a new harming method.

"It gives me hope. I love you so much. You give me a reason to breathe. Its something for me to not kill myself for" >>> means so much :')

Neither is safer. But I find that burning hurts so much that it's difficult to keep it there to do enough damage - usually I stop before it gets bad. I burn and cut, sometimes to cancel each other out. Cuts can get infected, and are more distinguishable as self harm. Most people won't recognise burning as self harm. Depends what you burn with. PM me if you need to chat, I don't want to sound like I'm advising you to how to, I'm just answering the question..
