I think it's hard for a lot of people to really understand cutting and what all it entails. Maybe you could sit down with them about what's going on. Let them know that yes, you cut. No, you don't have a disease. Yes, you're depressed. But no, you're not suicidal. I think that reassuring them that you aren't suicidal would be a good place to start. They might not understand a whole lot about cutting, so sitting down with them probably wouldn't be a bad thing. If you need anything, though, don't hesitate to PM me.

"When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down "happy." They told me I didn't understand the assignment. I told them they didn't understand life." --John Lennon

"What matters isn't that you fell, but that you got back up. No matter how many times it takes, it's that you get back up. We fall down and all isn't lost." --Renee Yohe

I agree with her ^.
Explain first of all that you aren't suicidal and that it's more of a coping thing for your depression. When people found out about mine, no one really assumed that I was suicidal but they watched for it. I would explain to them why you do it.

You can look up some more stuff online that can probably help you to explain why you do it and what it means to you and all of that.

Good luck <3
