I want the scars back.

I've been self harm free for a month or so now, and the scars are starting to fade slightly. I like them, they remind me to be strong. I can't get them back without doing the one thing I'm supposed to have strength for..

I know how you feel. My scars have started fading too, and I have been wanting them back. Maybe try and find something else to make you feel strong, instead of cutting? That's what I've been trying to do...it's not the same, but it's something. Message me if you ever just want to talk.

I've found that if you scratch lightly along the top of a scar, it gets visible for a day or two. or you could draw to help you. either way, stay strong<3

I understand how you feel.. Except I guess I'm the reason that they're going away though. (Working on a half sleeve of tattoos that relates to the things that helped me through the SH). Even though I'm intentionally doing it, it really does feel like they're fading away, in a sense. But then again, my tattoos will be an even better reminder to stay strong. So maybe you'll come to realize that you can make it through and be strong without them.. Because deep down, you know that they are there.

Same... i can only see it when they shine in the light. Ive nearly done it again just to get another scar but i didnt. I wish they wouldnt fade. I like them, im almost proud of them because they show that i was strong enough to do it and stop.

Hey, Ive been SH free for a few years and my scars have faded a lot. I felt the same as you do at first and was upset by them fading, but then I realised that I prefer it this way...my scars have faded as much as they ever will, so now I'm the only one who knows what the faint marks are and what they mean. No one else can look at my wrists and know what I did. But when I look at them it reminds me of what i went through and how strong i was to get through it. I never want to forget what happened because it's part of me and taught me a lot i guess, but i also don't want my past to be an obvious mark on my body. With my scars mostly faded, it almost feels more personal. You could try thinking of it like that! and well done for being SH free for a month, that's really great <3

draw them on, with a red pen, permanent marker if you want them to last longer, even better temporary tattoos, then you do not have to go back to self harm, but youl have the scars that you want!!!!
