Cyberbully (movie) - July 19th 2011, 09:15 PM

Hey all.

I was just curious how many of you have seen that new movie on ABC Family, Cyberbully? I watched it today and I love it cause I can really relate.

Bullying is probably half, maybe more of the reason I even self-harm. I was just wondering if anyone else related to it like me or had something to say about it?

Edit: Sorry if this belongs in some other forum. I just thought it might fit here.

And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts,
And I looked and behold: a pale horse.
And his name, that sat on him, was Death.
And Hell followed with him.

Re: Cyberbully (movie) - July 19th 2011, 09:28 PM

I have not seen this movie due to being the UK, but if there's a site that I could watch it on I would watch it. But on the whole bullying contributing to self harm bit - yes I do think the bullying I experienced at school has played a part in me self harming amongst other things.

the girl who always seemed unbreakble finally
BROKE
the girl who seemed strong
CRUMBLED
the girl who always laughed
CRIED
the girl who never stopped trying finally
GAVE UP

she let her fake smile fade and as she did a tear rolled down her cheek and she whispered

' i can't do this anymore'

I think you might have to wait until it's out on DVD in order for it to even be on the Internet. Not sure though.

You can try viewing it on the abcfamily.com website. If that doesn't work, just Google or use whatever search engine you like and type "Watch Cyberbully online for free".

This may sound dumb but i don't know if the UK has all the same videos on YouTube, but if you just search "Cyberbully" on YouTube, it has the movie in several 15 minute parts.

I saw it too. It was a very good movie. It touched down on touchy subjects and brought to light the importance of such.

Re: Cyberbully (movie) - July 20th 2011, 02:07 AM

OMG! Yes i've seen it, and I love it. It's a very emotional movie, I guess that's why it's so great because the movie didn't just beat around the bush it was very real and blunt. Like this is it, this is what everyone is so afraid to talk about! Because instead of showing the pain like Taylor did in the movie everyone covers it up and just cracks a couple bad jokes about it which only makes matters worse! Since I was once in Taylors shoes I understand how serious it can get. Therefor I wish more people would speak out about the issue of cyberbullying.

I'm actually surprised *spoilers* that they showed that attempted suicide scene as uncut and dramaticnas they did. I get chills just thinking about that scene. I know exactly how she felt.

Re: Cyberbully (movie) - July 20th 2011, 04:58 AM

I haven't seen the movie but from what the OP said, I think it would be very odd if they didn't feature some suicidal scenes. After all, the movie is in response to the cyber-bullying issue and it could rake in a nice sum of money. If the suicidal scene wasn't in there, I doubt many could relate to it and would find it unrepresentative. Those who haven't been affected by cyber-bullying and felt suicidal or self-harmed from it (i.e. myself) would find it a boring waste of time and a perfect opportunity for jokes about the movie as well as about cyber-bullying.

Even though I haven't seen it, I don't expect it to move me in any way other than boring me half to death but I'll watch it in a few days once I've gotten through this mountain of work.

I saw it!! I loved it! Very real and relatable. It was well made. Emily Osment did a fantastic job portraying the role of Taylor. If you havent seen it you should!!
