Hi, I used to self harm up until about a month ago and I really need to get rid of the scars becuase I'm only 15 and it's a real pain having to wear long sleeves all the time. I've just bought some bio oil because I heard that it's really good for scars. I was wondering is anyone knew how long it would take for me to notice a difference? And will it get rid of the scars all together? They aren't very bad but they are noticable especially to my family who will be looking out for them. Any replies would be greatly appreciated.

I use cover up, and it works pretty well. but the thing is not all cover up is waterproof, so be careful washing your hands. And you may need to put a lot of cover up on your scars.

Hey, Well done on quitting the self harm I know what you mean about long sleeves, it's awful when the weather is warm! I've been using bio oil for about a month now and to be honest I'm not sure if it's making much difference. It's like, one minute it looks slightly paler and then the next day it's back to being bright red and raised again. That said, they do say you have to use it quite religiously for around 3 months before you tend to get results. Also if anything, it will only make them go flatter and paler. As far as I'm aware, nothing can get rid of the white scars that will eventually be left.

I came across this product completely by accident when I was younger, and I think it made a significant difference--not a miracle worker, though.

Unfortunately, nothing can really completely get rid of some scars. I hear you should use it twice a day, maybe even 3, and always thoroughly massage the oil in. And after a few months you should see results.

It still will most likely not get rid of them all together. Maybe you could try and build up enough confidence to go without long sleeves in public?
