Angry Im a failure - July 24th 2011, 02:19 PM

I'm battling with self injury, and I had gone almost 2weeks without doing it but last night I broke down and just couldn't take it. I tried everything but I'm not strong enough, but when I go for a time I just go into "bitch mode " and I throw temper tantrums like a child and I don't know why. Any advice on how to control my anger would be greatly appreciated

Hey there,

I'm really sorry that things are hard for you at the moment but two weeks is really good, well done!
First of all, never say that you are not strong enough, because you are! You need to believe in yourself, you CAN do this, I know things can seem impossible sometimes but it's not: I believe in you.
Maybe take a look at the alternatives here, these will help to distract you from the urges to Self Harm until they fade. It is trial and error so therefore not all of them may work for you, but hang in there and you WILL find one that works.
As for your anger perhaps you could punch a pillow or scribble on a piece of paper or ring a friend and talk to them when you get annoyed. Again distraction is a brilliant way to deal with it.
Finally I would suggest talking to someone you trust about this, such as a family member; someone that can help and support you through this.

Feel free to PM me if you ever want to talk, remember you ARE strong, you CAN do this.
Take care,

I just don't understand why I'm like this and I hate it,if I do almost any of those alternatives then there will be questions why and my brothers will think I'm insane, which most days I feel like I am...:/
