Exclamation can't hold on for much longer - August 22nd 2011, 09:45 AM

It's been over 3 months since the last time.

Just yesterday I was reading this book (Vampire Academy), and out of the blue the main character starts to cut, it was so triggering.

Lately I've been feeling so sad, I just want to get rid of it, feel the pain on my hand instead of in my heart, and see the blood trickling down my wrist. I can't believe it, I'm such an idiot.

I can't, can't take this anymore

Hey there.

I am really sorry things are rough for you right now. It sounds like you're really struggling with the urges to self harm. Unfortunetly self harm is a coping mechanism that does have an affect for most people but it can also be addictive and hard to stop.

I really want to encourage you to take a look at this link of alternatives to self harm. Not everything on that list is going to help you but there will be some things which will so it's all about trial and error. When you do come across things which don't seem to help you then don't give up, keep on trying new things until you find the ones which do help you. You could also get a big piece if paper ans write a list of things which do help you, decorate it and stick it up somewhere where you can see it to help you when you have urges and feel the need to hurt yourself in any way.

I was also wondering whether you have any support at home for the way you've been feeling and for your self harm? You haven't mentioned anything about it and if you do get help then thats great but if you don't I want to encourage you to reach out for the help. So here is a list of people who can help you. But remember you have to reach out for help to them in order for them to be able to help you. You have to be open and honest and let them know how you are feeling. They can and they will help you. Let people in.

I know it's hard but you can beat this. You're worth so much more than self harm.

Stay strong.
