Firstly well done on making this desision to get help it is a big and important step on the road to recovery.
I suggest telling your parents now before the counseller does as it is better coming from you. Either sit them down and carmly exaplin how you are feeling and thigs that are making you sad, angry etc and then say that you have been coping by self harming. Then go on to say you are getting proffessional help, but would like their suport through this as well. If you cannot say it to them write it down in a letter. I hope this helps and well done again.
