I started cutting again Friday (9/2). Right now it's Wednesday, (9/6). I did seven on my left leg, eleven on my right leg. Sunday, I did more but I couldn't count them. Monday I did more I think. Then yesterday I carved LIVE FREE on my left thigh and OR LET ME DIE on my right. I also wrote (it didnt bleed the skins just irritated so does that count as carving??) HELP ME on the top of my right thigh.
I'm scared... Like really really scared. I confided in a friend yesterday and he said, "Quit or this friendship's over." and he means it.  help??also a question: if i just kinda use scissors to write the words but the skin doesn't break or bleed at all is that considered carving??  #OCKest2006 pride<3 #A7XFamForever  R.I.P. i think that is considered cutting too. But i think that your friend is being a little too much. a friend should be supportive, and not saying stuff like that to demoralize you. =) just remember that you are an awesome person, and you might want to talk to a counsellor about this. =) Do not keep all this emotions to yourself for it cannot really result in anything good at all.
update us on your feelings. =) you are a wonderful girl and you deserve to be happy. we will also help you to quit cutting =D |

Even if you didn't break the skin, it's still considered SH. And I completely understand about being scared. That's how I've felt when I SH'ed really bad. It is possible to quit self-harm, though. I'm not saying it's easy (it's anything but), but it IS possible. Check out this alternatives thread here. Hopefully some of these will work for you. I'm sorry about your friend being unsupportive, and I agree that a friend should NOT say that.

To answer your question, I would consider that carving - regardless if it bled or not.
Now to you cutting again.. Everyone has relapses at one point or another, it doesn't mean you're not strong. It means sometimes things get you down, it means you're human. However, I am not justifying cutting and you should take a look at the alternatives thread as someone suggested. Maybe you could find something on there that will help you distract yourself so you won't cut or carve yourself again. As for your friend saying such thing, that was not the right thing to say. He should be supportive and loving towards you at a time like this. You deserve so much better and I'm so sorry he was so cruel towards you.  There are so many people here on TH, including me, that would be glad to help you on your journey of quitting self-harm if you choose to do so. Feel free to PM me anytime.
