the feelings are back - September 22nd 2011, 09:04 PM

i havent self harmed since february....but since ive started my sophomore year of college a few weeks ago the urges have been flooding in. ive found ways to unintentionally make myself feel lonely and left out and then the urges come in strong and i get depressed and have to fight with myself not to do anything.....but would it be so bad if i did? if it helped me get rid of these thoughts of loneliness and exclusion?

In all honesty, it's normal to feel these urges and thoughts when you get overwhelmed and wish to resort back to cutting. But yes, it would be a bad thing to go back to it. It's highly addictive and very dangerous. It's also a temporary solution to whatever's going on. There are other ways to deal with stress and whatever else your feeling. I hope you start to feel better. <3

Really; you've made it this long, remember that. If you're intentionally isolating yourself, just try getting yourself very involved with things for a week or so and see if that makes you feel any better. If not, try to find some sort of counselor somewhere near you. That could definitely help you through this period of time and put you back on track again.
Best of luck!
