To write love on her arms?

Can someone please explain to me what the whole To Write Love On Her Arms thing is and how it works? thanks in advance

From the way I understand it, it's basically an awareness program for self harm/suicide. They have a special day dedicated to this program and anybody can participate. People just write "Love" on their arms to show that they care about the issue and the people suffering from it. It's one of the ways friends and loved ones can show support for the people they know that are going through it. I've even been able to reach out to a few strangers from doing it. It's a really fantastic program. I hope I've helped clear things up a little bit. (:

TWLOHA (To Write Love On Her Arms) is an organization that sells merchandise, throws concerts, and also has a "Write LOVE on Your Arms" Day to raise Self-Harm awareness, as well as Depression and Addiction awareness.

The money they raise through merchandise and such goes towards things like programs, to help people suffering from self-harming issues, and other issues. Of course the business expenses is where part of the money goes, but you get my point, yes?

Whereas the day for writing "Love" on your arms is, more or less, a way to raise awareness of self-harm, and sometimes it helps self-harmers feel less alone.

Kimmi and Julz pretty much said everything I wanted to. But TWLOHA is an amazing organization with a great cause and I follow them on Facebook and some of the things they post (quote, story, etc.) really help me get through the day. I always write love on my arm when it's TWLOHA day and I always will.

If youtube TWLOHA it will come up with lots videos all to do with TWLOHA, It's basically one girls story that they told by selling shirts to raise money for their freind to get into a detox treatment centre, they wrote a song to raise money aswell, and as they did this, they set up a site and heard from people all over the world telling the same story or a similar story ect so they are now a charity or something and raise awareness.

The videos on youtube may be abit triggering so be careful.

Honestly, I don't know if it's the same every year, or if it's a certain time of year, or whatever. What I do know is, usually someone on TeenHelp will put up a post when it gets close to the time.
