my new harming habbit - October 14th 2011, 10:17 AM

i dont cut anymore and im proud of my self for this...
but i have been going through alot lately in the last week, getting suspended from school, and getting charged by the cops for punching the girl at school in the face. pretty stupid i know but she just makes me so angery!

well anyway, i have a new self harming habbit. i dont cut, burn, or scrach anymore, now i hit my self with things to make myself bruse. i hit my self on my thighs on my legs, and it hurts for like 10 minnets than the pain goes away so i feel i nead to do it again!...

i dont know, when im at school i go to counciling. but since im suspended i havnt been able to talk to the counciler...

i dont know what type of reply i nead or want i just nead some sort of reply from anymore, even if they are telling me its the stupidest thing in the world.

Well, I can say it's good you found a coping method that is less damaging. However, the problem is, you're still hurting yourself.

When you get back to school, maybe talk to the counselor about this? Sometimes, a counselor can offer more helpful ways to cope. I can offer some (and I'm sure you've seen the Alternatives list, so I'll skip that ), but I don't know if any of them interest you.

Alternatives that I have personally used include: Painting, Drawing, Walking (and usually taking some photos on my walk), venting on Tumblr, Playing Video Games, Washing my Bedding (Seriously, everything smells so nice, too!)... You get the point, whatever I can do to keep my hands busy.

So, I think that for now, you've taken a positive step in the right direction, but you should work towards not hurting yourself at all. Healthier coping mechanisms will benefit you a lot more in the long run.

ooh, to be honest this isn't a good method. This is actually what I used to do before I escalated to cutting. I mean, I still leave bruises like the ones you were talking about, but the point is you should learn from my mistake.
Thirteen is right, you should pick up a hobby or skill, so long as it doesn't lead to stress and... you know.

Its good that you've been able to find a less damaging method of coping, but you are still hurting youself. Remember, when you bruse, it means your bleeding on the inside. I hope you can talk to your counselor soon.
