That's a tough situation. I couldn't even imagine my father walking in on me self-harming. I think I would cry, to be honest. What was your father's reaction? Has he talked to you since the incident? Maybe you should try to sit down with him and talk with him about what he saw and why you self-harm, etc. Maybe that would be beneficial towards your relationship with him?

It's not so much what you do, it's what he does. Let's hope he calls a doctor and gets you to the help you need so you don't need to express yourself in this way!

Hi there.

You don't really say what your fathers reaction was to walking in to see you self harming but I just wanted to say that sometimes parents don't have a clue how to re-act. Imagine you walk in on your child self harming. It must be hard knowing and even worse seeing your child self harming because they are hurting themselves on purpose, which can really hurt them emotionally which causes them to re-act, sometimes in ways we would least expect.

I think you need to sit down and talk to your father about what has happend. This could be a little awkward, especially at first and it might be hard for you both to talk about it, but it's going to ease any tension between you both and it might result in you getting help and support with your self harm which would be great.

I hope this helps a little.

Jessie
