Exclamation Is this serious? - October 29th 2011, 03:28 AM

So .. Everytime I eat I feel like it's ok.. But after I'm done eating , I feel guilty so I slap myself in the face, or bite myself untill I get scared I'll bite through my skin.. Or i just threaten to harm my self again.. Should I let this go or should I pay attention to this... ? What should I do?

Hey there,

I'd say this is definitely worth paying attention to. It is self harm and shouldn't have to be the way you deal with the feelings you have after eating. You shouldn't feel guilty after you eat, it's something we all have to do, and it's a part of life you cant avoid. Why does it bother you after you eat?

When you get he urge to SH after eating, I'd recommend you look at this list: http://www.teenhelp.org/alternatives Not all of those will work, but try looking through it and trying them out as a way to distract yourself from the urge to hurt yourself. They're a lot safer, and if you can find ones that work it wil be easier to avoid hurting yourself and potentially putting yourself in danger.

I hope that helps a bit. Keep strong.
Hollie.

I agree with Hollie this is something to pay attention to.

I think that writing a diary could help you. If when you feel guilty after you have eaten you go and write down how you are feeling, what you ate and what you want to do could help you pin point the reasons behind this. Then you can deal with these reasons either on your own or with support of some kind.

I hope that has helped. I am here if you ever need support, rant or general chat
