I have fantasies about cutting, is that weird -

I haven't cut for 26 days. Everytime I want to, I just picture myself taking out my razor and pushing it onto my skin. I see little trickles of blood down my arm. Are these fantasies about cutting weird?

not that i know because when i was cutting i had similar ones to you :/

Hey Devon.
Well done on not cutting for so long. That's a great achievement, and you should defnitely be proud of that. As for the fantasies, in my experience they're actually quite normal. When you start relying on self harm, it almost becomes a part of you, and so, naturally, you think about it a lot. And thinking about it is a lot better than doing it. I wouldn't worry about the fantasies - they're harmless as long as you don't act on them, and they do fade over time. Take care. Nothing in the world is the way it ought to be. It's harsh, and cruel. But that's why there's us - champions. Doesn't matter where we come from, what we've done or suffered, or even if we make a difference. We live as though the world is as it should be, to show it what it can be. |

Congratulations on making it 26 days! These fantasies are normal. You've become addicted and used to self harming at this point, and because of this it is normal to fantasize about it. Try not to act on them and eventually you will be able to better deal with these fantasies and urges.
