What can I do when it's summer? - January 8th 2012, 07:03 AM

This thread has been labeled as triggering, particularly on the subject of self harm, by the original poster or by a Moderator. The contents of this thread might therefore not be suitable for certain sensitive users. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.

It's winter yet I've already started worrying about this. What can I do about my scars when the warmer weather comes? On my knee (stupid, I know) I have a scar that says HELP. There's no way I can mask it as some weird accident or something. People will know. There are others but they're a bit more inconspicuous.

What can I do?? I could try using makeup but I'm not sure it would stay. I know there are things you can do to reduce scars but I'm not ready to part with them. If they went away I'd just want to cut more. I can't do the bracelet trick because majority are on my legs and a few on my arm (but not the wrist). Suggestions? My parents know I SH and everything but I don't want the whole world to know.

I'm sure people have asked this before but I checked the most recent stuff in this section and didn't really see anything. Sorry if I'm being repetitive. And sorry I'm being paranoid that I'm being repetitive = boring = disliked = rejected. My mind is just that flavour of crazy.

Sometimes tears say all there is to say. Sometimes your first scars don't ever fade away. Tried to break my heart, well it's broke. Tried to hang me high, well I'm choked. Wanted rain on me, well I'm soaked. Soaked to the skin. It's the end where I begin.

Here's a link to a thread on cover-up tips: http://www.teenhelp.org/forums/f78-s...er-up-tips%5D/

Also, for the one on your knee, you could wear one of those knee brace/ace bandage things and say you hurt you knee.

Try 3 quarter length trousers as they will cover your knee, and you can get long sleeved shirts that are thin or 3 quarter length tops ect. I use board shorts on holiday and just pass the other scars off as allergic reactions to insect bites. You could also buy leggins as people do wear leggins all year round - Though because I'm from england I usually just wear jeans all year round, so if it's not too hot you could wear jeans . Theres also linen trousers - they can be good in summer because you can wear long trousers ect and have no one question why because they are linen ones.

GAVE UP

she let her fake smile fade and as she did a tear rolled down her cheek and she whispered

' i can't do this anymore'
