Is fainting on purpose SH? - January 16th 2012, 04:29 PM

Fainting on purpose is my new way of running away and taking a break from things. I have done it 3 times and I am getting better at it. So when I was Googling how to do it I came across people saying that it can be harmful and all something which I decided to skip. I didn't want to know how it can harm me. So, is this SH?

Its easier said that done BUT most of the great things wouldn't have ever been done if they hadn't been said first.

Anything done to intentionally harm you is classed as Self Harm. SO if you are doing it to harm yourself. then yes it can be.
It is really not good for you, usally people faint due to lack of oxygen to the brain, wihich is ovisouly not good.
I would urge you to stop doing this, I really don't want you to hurt yourself badly.
If you ever want/need to talk, feel free to PM me,

Take care,

I will admit that I don't have much experience in SH, but this definitely seems like it. All of the ways that I can think of to make yourself pass out are harmful in one way or another, so to answer your question- yes. If you ever need to talk about anything, let me know. Please stay safe.

I agree with Charli; if you faint intentionally, it is SH and is certainly harmful if continued. Feel free to shoot me a message if you'd like to chat about anything.

I forgot to mention. I use hyperventilation to faint. Like squat and breathe 15-28 times than stand up and blow on your thumb.

The method isn't exactly important. Again, if you are doing it with the intention of hurting yourself, then it counts as SH. In my opinion, depriving yourself of oxygen does count as SH. Feel free to shoot me a message if you want to talk.

I have done this before except the way I do it is by having a really hot shower that makes me dizzy and I pass out (no idea if this is similar in any way). I never heard anything about this being harmful to you. So now I am a little confused .

I don't do it to harm myself. I do so that I can escape. Get a few seconds where I don't have to live with all the confusion and everything inside me.

I don't know if its considered self harm but it is dangerous to make yourself faint on purpose. It might an idea to talk to somebody about this.

BROKE
the girl who seemed strong
CRUMBLED
the girl who always laughed
CRIED
the girl who never stopped trying finally
GAVE UP

she let her fake smile fade and as she did a tear rolled down her cheek and she whispered

' i can't do this anymore'
