I know how you feel. I have a saying, "cut, burn, feel relief". But it's not worth it in the end. Of course, you can't stop unless you really want to. It's up to you ultimately.

I agree with the post above me. But if you don't want help.. Why join a site dedicated to just that?

Hey Penny
I totally get where you're coming from. I am like that too. But the fact that you're posting here shows that somewhere you do want to get better. That somewhere you want to be happy. I know that being happy after being sad for such a long time can be really difficult. It can be scary even because we kind of become comfortable with how we are feeling right now. Even though it is a horrible feeling, but we still somewhere get used to it. But that doesn't change the fact that we desperately seek happiness. And that being happy can be a struggle. Sometimes when we start to be a little happy, we run back and seek comfort in that sad feeling, because we are familiar with it.
But it is okay, what you need right now is a professional who can guide you and help you get better.I know it is easier said that done. But you know that somewhere deep down you want this too.
Till then, go through this list of alternatives for when you feel like SHing. Every alternative won't work for you. You'll have to find the right one that works.

Its easier said that done BUT most of the great things wouldn't have ever been done if they hadn't been said first.

Re: The Pain - January 27th 2012, 05:15 AM

When I first started cutting I thought it was cool, I have to say thought I just went in circles of problems bcuz of it as I got older. Lost friends, hurt family, sometimes ppl cant even get jobs bcuz of scars. Or so I have heard I don't believe a lot of that tho. I got a second chance at life and I would never give it away. I wokexup one day and didn't feel the urge to do it anymore. It was a miracle. So ive been there but the future may not look too pretty if u keep doing it.
