Helping others (hopefullly) - January 23rd 2012, 10:22 PM

I need your help! If youve ever self harmed or do now or are recovered, I really need your help! I'm doing a group at a conference on addictions, and sh being part of that, i need to find a way to address ms/hs girls and get accross to them there is help and there is a way to recovery and etc........any ideas? what's helped you? what would you tell them??? Hm. Mostly I'd just let them know that they're not alone. That's all that you can do, and that's the only thing that will help them not feel so bad about it. I mean definitely tell them about different organizations and hotlines, but really, let them know that they'll be okay and that other people have made it.

Like Faith said, it's so important that these girls realize that they are not suffering alone. One thing that has helped me keep from self-harming as often is having someone that keeps me accountable. Knowing that I am hurting someone else when I hurt myself definitely puts a certain conviction on my heart that keeps me from cutting. Good luck at the conference!

Unlimited Love

If I limit the love I give to just one or two, it will eventually go stale. If I learn to create love inside my heart and silently give it to everyone I meet, love will grace every corner of my life.
