Hi There,
I think that you are going to have to accept the fact that being in the hospital is the best way to go about this. I know you don't want to but it will help you get better. I wish you all the best! Feel free to PM me if you need anything. Stay Safe. -BlaineG.

Hey!
![]() I just want to let you know that you've made a really positive step in identifying that you have a problem with self harm at the moment. What i can say though, is that there are different ways you can go about helping yourself. You don't necesarily have to go to A&E (unless you think that at the moment you need medical attention) You haven't said where you're from, but i think a good first step in getting help would be to talk to your family doctor/gp. Your gp would be able to assess you and talk through with you the different treatment options. You say you've been in an adolescence unit before and from what you said in your post, it sounds like you don't want to go back there. If you explain this to your gp they would hopefully come up with other options and talk through what YOU think will be the best help, before deciding the best way forward. You haven't said much about what's going on in your life at the moment, maybe there's something that's happening that's leading you to turn to self harm as a way of coping? Do you think it would help to talk things through with someone? You aren't alone with things, if you want to talk about anything please feel free to PM me anytime. Look after yourself, Vicky

Hi there.
It's great you're wanting help. That's really positive and is the right way to go in to recovory. If you feel unsafe in respects that you feel you are at a high suicide risk or you feel that you might badly hurt yourself then I suggest you go to a&e where you can be seen by a psychiatric team for an emergency assesment. They can then make the choice to put you in hospital or they might make a care plan with you and put a short term intense help in place such as seeing a crisis team etc and then they will help you get help in the long term. If you need medical attention I also urge you to go to a&e. However, if you don't feel a huge risk to yourself and don't need medical attention for the self harm you have done then Victoria is right. You can make an appointment with your doctor to discuss the issues you're having. They will then be able to refer you to a mental health team. If you live outside of the UK it might be you can refer yourself in to private health care etc. You can also look in to any support your school/college provides if you're in education. A lot of schools have nurses and counselors which can be really helpful. Colleges tend to have student services too and you might be able to see a support worker for some support. There are many other alternatives to get help that don't require hospitalisation. Going to hospital is normally a last resort and is for when a person is assessed to be at a high risk to themselves. I hope this helps. If you want to talk to us about anything like your options, where to go from here or even talk to us about how you're feeling and what's going on for you then you're more than welcome to do so. You can beat this so keep on fighting. Yeah like Victoria and Jessie said, you don't have to go back to the hospital if you don't want to. I'm SURE there's other ways to get help. I'd say go to mom and dad first and tell them you want to see a therapist and go from there.
