Unhappy Excuses for scars? - February 13th 2012, 12:46 PM

I have to get my arms and legs waxed within a week. And I have scars this time. I didn't have any a month ago when I had gotten waxed. So I don't know what to say when she asks how I got them. I always get waxed from this one same girl. She doesn't make it hurt much
There are about 3-4 pink ones, these are the really horrible ones. In other places it is just like tanning getting removed where I had cut (single cuts). These will surely be visible while getting waxed. She might just guess that I cut. And in this one place has 5 brownish scars all close to each other.
I am really scared. I wasn't expecting the single cuts to leave scars like that too! ACKK!

Well I've always said that my dog has scratched me. That has usually worked for me. Maybe say it was a thornbush in the woods?
More than likely, she won't mention them. So I wouldn't worry much about that.

The only time that they were ever mentioned to me, I said it was my cat that did it. You could always get some of that fading cream and see if that would help? Good luck, but I agree with Nicole, she probably won't say anything.

I agree with the others. Chances are she won't notice them, and if she does she won't mention them. I usually go with the dog/cat excuse, or I try the 'Come up with something so random they'll laugh it off and not ask again' tactic. Like, 'So one time I was chasing this giant squirrel, because I thought it ran away with my wallet, only by the time I caught up with it I realised it wasn't even a squirrel, it was a cat, and it wasn't my wallet, it was a shoe, and...' See where I'm going? Or you can always just say you don't like to talk about it, or you don't know, or something like that. Anyway. I hope it goes okay.

You could make a fun excuse like ' aliens - you may think they are not real - but I know they are - those there they are probe marks ' or you could go with less extreme one such as fell of my bike, thorn-bushes , cat's , dogs , rabbits ect.

Nothing new to add because the people above took all my ideas. But I would like to point out that there comes a point when all the excuses in the world might not be believable. I'm at that point, and I've tried everything. Dog. Cat. Walking in the woods. Car accident. There comes a point when people just. know.

Take me seriously.
I dare you.

TeeHee
I guess I'd go with something like aliens, will suit my personality
We don't have woods here, we live in the city though that would have been a nice excuse. I am already feeling much better after reading all of your posts! Thanks a ton!
Though I'd like to see what other excuses there can be!

I almost always blame mine on my cat or dog but the part about a thorn bush or something like that wouldn't be bad for some of them too. Sometimes I do come up with some crazy story if "I don't remember" doesn't work out. Don't stress about it though! I'm sure everything will be fine.
And now that i read the comment you made before me Aliens sounds like a great idea!! I'll have to remember that the next time i happen to need one

You could use animal excuse but chances are, she will not say anything..
And if she does you can either pretend you didn't hear or say 'I don't know' and try laugh it off..

You could also say something along the lines of school sports they get pretty mean at times. There was a video on youtube I saw once it was called '20 fun excuses for self harm scars' or something like that. Though the suggested videos that come up with that may be pretty triggering so watch at your risk. You could try some bio oil or rescue oil or cocoa butter to help them fade a-bit before the appointment too.

I've used tripped and fallen on glass/sticks/rocks. I've also said that I ran into a corner of a wall/table/sharp object. Also that I've dropped a knife while cooking. They all work for me cuz I'm very clumsy and those things actually do happen sometimes.

I usually just go with the old 'It was a tragic lawnmower accident' excuse, seems to be foolproof.

I usually just say I don't know or ignore the question.
I'm glad all went well for you though.
I will keep the alien idea in mind, hahahaha.
