Recovery. - February 23rd 2012, 04:42 AM

I feel like I've been all over the place with self harm lately. But, I feel like I'm finally getting to a point where I'm starting to actually want to stop for me. I'm definitely not there yet, but I've just noticed that my thoughts surrounding it have changed lately. It's not all completely about not doing it simply because I know other people don't want me to do it or it's considered wrong. For the first time, it's beginning to be about me. I know recovery is gonna be long and hard and I have so far to go. But this is the most hopeful I've felt about anything in a really long time. I don't think there's really any point to this post, I just kind of wanted this out there somewhere.

Agreed!
That's a great step that you're taking right there and that you're doing it for yourself!
Congrats on that (:

Congratulations!
I just wanted to let you know that while at some points recovery might seem hard and you may stumble a bit, it's most certainly possible. You and I both know you're strong enough to do it, and your post seals the deal.
Don't let anybody make you go faster than you're comfortable with, recovery is really something you need to set your own pace at and do your own way. I've gone down the same road you're starting now, and if you have any questions don't hesitate to send me a PM.

Congratulations on making the decision to stop for yourself, rather than others. That's a huge step and I'm proud of you. You should be proud of yourself too. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help support you on your road to recovery.

That's how I felt when I started getting better. I haven't cut myself in 87 days, and I'm doing wonderfully. I wish you the best in your recovery.
