Seizures. - June 29th 2012, 01:33 AM

This is actually my first time making a thread in here, so here goes.

I have a seizure disorder; I didn't used to have them, they came out of nowhere toward the end of my freshman year. They have severely set me back; I don't have a driver's license, for one. I was about to apply for one because I went over a year without any seizures, but I suddenly had a relapse a couple of weeks ago and now I can't drive until December at the earliest. This also makes the idea of a job more difficult. Without a license, it would be hard to commute. There isn't really any public transport I could use either, because we live in a very small rural town in the south. Corn and cotton fields everywhere.

I feel like I'm stuck and can't move forward in my life because of this disorder. I guess I'm just looking for support from someone who has this disorder, or something similar, etc. How do you deal with a disability that sets you back? I've been very discouraged about it all lately and I could just use some advice.

Hi Haru

I dont have seizures but didnt want for this to go unanswered.

It must be difficult when it feels like its holding you back. I would assume you are on medication for your seizures and taking this as you should? Is there anyway your doctor could advise you on this?

It's hard but I think you just gotta take things one day at a time and see how it goes. Is there anyone who could help you out with lifts or transport until you get a driving licence?
