I have two friends with it. One from TH. and one from grade school. The one I knew in grade school had to have surgery on her leg to get it straightened out and now she wears a brace on one ankle.

My cousin has is; he's 10. He pretty much can't do anything on his own.

My uncle has it. He's about 37 and has the mind of a 3-8 year old, its pretty severe. He's sweet, but he can't really take care of himself. I also have a friend in my new school that has it. He's pretty nice. I feel bad though because sometimes I have to ask him to re-say a sentence because he is hard to understand, and it takes massive effort for him to talk.

I have it too!
It only effects the right side of my body, my right hand and foot have limited motor function but I can make up for that. It is a very mild case for me and Im extremely happy for that. But Im just like any normal teenage girl. When I tell a lot of people they are like no you don't and they tell me that they can't tell at all. I also have a little limp when I walk, a lot of people say its not that noticeable unless they stare at me but I am so self conscious about it. It doesn't effect my learning at all. Im just naturally bad at math ![]() I started having seizures about three years ago and the doctors say they might be coming from my CP. But they have no idea but I dont think they do because they seem to come when I am extremely angry or stressed. Always remember to put your happiness first.

There is a girl at my school with it. She is so lovely. She has trouble walking and has leg braces, she gets out of class 10 minutes early to avoid the rush of people. She is very independent although she needs help with a lot of things she tries to do a lot herself. Her's is going to gradually get worse as she gets older but she is so so positive she is such an inspiration.

I totally agree with you Lizzi.
I am independent for the most part. I can do a lot of things on my own, its just somethings I cant do by myself. Like if I have my left and full and I have to open a door with my right I cant do it. I can drive, but I have to put the key in with my left hand. I can't play instruments, some times I can't do my own hair. I can't do certain things with my feet because it can't flex. Finding shoes sometimes can be a pain in the ass because my right foot depending on the type of shoe can be up to three sizes smaller than my left. But I always get the bogo sale at payless because of it ![]() I have motor function in my right side but its not like individual motor function. I can move my left hand in certain ways and my right hand mimics it. Just Friday I was in my math class and was holding my cell in my right hand but I couldnt put it in my pocket because my hand doesn't turn and twist right. And I was fixing my calculator with my left hand and my teacher was like Ashley put your phone away and I was like I am give me a second and shes like no your not and I was like Miss I have only one working hand she was like oh yeah...sorry I forgot. Always remember to put your happiness first.

I used to work with a guy with CP. I think he was in his 30's. At first I was a bit shy around him, cos I didnt know what it was or didnt know anyone with it. But he was a nice fellow. There was things he struggled with like eating, drinking and walking but he was a pretty independent person, so he didnt let it stop him.

A childhood friend of mine had CP. Her family moved away when I was little, but I used to play at hers a lot. I remember her mom talking to me a lot about it, though--she was so patient with my questions and never told me it was wrong to ask, which to a seven year old is pretty darn important.
And you know that, mother, I'd be lying, if I didn't tell you I'm afraid of dying. I told you to be patient I told you to be fine I told you to be balanced I told you to be kind |

My brother had it. He had a bunch of other disabilities though too, so it was hard to tell how much it really affected him.

In 2007, a boy with cerebral palsy graduated from my high school. He didn't talk much, but he was really smart- he took every AP and IB math and science class that the school offered. He eventually went to college to study physics, but passed away last June in an accident.

My cousin has CP.
He's in a wheel chair because he doesn't have much control over the use of his legs. He wears braces on both legs. His speech is really bad he's 11. He's by far the most positive person I've ever met. In a few weeks he's having an operation to correct his legs as there is something really wrong with them. See despite this he's a happy kid and never complains once. I love him because he's so smiley and positive.
