In Lou of Sounding Like a Dick... - June 8th 2009, 05:12 AM

BTW, not sure if I spelled lou right...

Anyways...
Theres a guy at my school that uses hs CP to get what he wants. He gets good grades because he guilt trips people (he doen't do the work, but I know he can...he's pretty smart) and he is forceing my friend Julia to be in a relationship with him, and he is very controling of her. He calls her a slut when she does't eat with him at lunch, constantly sends her txts asking where she is, and if she answers and she is w/ someone he doesn't like, he call her names and stuff. I try to tell him what he is doing isn't right, but he just says "I didn't know, I'm handicapped remember?"

So, in lou of sounding like a dick, how do I tell him to stop milking his disability for all it's worth?

(BTW--I have an uncle w/ CP too, so I know how it affects you. My uncles is way worse too...)

I don't like how people do that. I don't know anyways of telling him to stop, but how about telling your friend what he does. That he calls her names etc.

If you decide to say something, I'd try to make it sound like a way to make her like him more or something like that. Try to make it sound more like friendly advice, instead of an insult. also, stary off by saying that it really sucks that he has CP and it must be really hard and you might mention that you're uncle has it too befor you give him the advice...
good luck!

PM me any time, ok? I'm always here to help.

Agreed. If you start off by sympathizing with his condition, and mention how horrible your uncle's CP has become, that should take the wind out of his sails to some degree, if he tries to use the "but-I'm-disabled-you-can't-say-that-to-me" excuse.

Also, does your friend know what he's calling her? If not, it may be time to let her in on this dirty little secret.

gahh it pisses me right off when people do this. or when people are "ill" and theres practically nothing wrong with them and they just use it as an excuse.

if it were me i'd just tell him straight, but then that's me.. i don't tend to beat around the bush when i have something to say. it may be a better tactic to make it sound like friendly advice, but just make him aware that you're not happy about the way he's treating your friend. tell your friend to dump him if he's not willing to change, because the way he's treating her is definitely unacceptable.

..and our dreams will break the boundaries of our fears..

Yes, he calls her that to her face...

Anyway,I called him out on it,
and he still said he wasn't doing anything wrong because he's disabled and can't help it...

i just gave up and pointed out to her all of it while he was on the phone and he broke up with her...
